Gisting, 11th of November 2024—On Monday, November 11th, 2024, the whole community of SMP Xaverius Gisting gathered to commemorate Heroes’ Day, which is celebrated annually on November 10th. This year’s theme was “Teladani Pahlawanmu, Cintai Negerimu”, which served as a reminder to everyone of the significance of remembering the country’s heroes.
A unique twist marked the ceremony: all attendees, including students, teachers, and staff, wore costumes representing various national heroes. This added a vibrant, patriotic spirit to the atmosphere, emphasizing the connection between past struggles and present commitments to the nation’s future.
Adding further significance, the student council members who served as ceremony officers conducted the ceremony in English, showcasing their dedication to both honoring tradition and embracing modern educational excellence.
In her speech, the Principle of SMP Xaverius Gisting, Mrs. Angela Deviana, encouraged all students to embody the spirit of the heroes by persevering in their studies. “By learning with passion and dedication, we carry forward the values and dreams our heroes fought for,” she emphasized.
After the ceremony, all of the teachers and students from each class took a photo session together. This moment captured the spirit of togetherness and created cherished memories for the entire school.
